8 reasons NOT to travel with your husband
We all love our boyfriends and husband, right? And we love spending holidays with them, yes? Of course, we do. Traveling with our life partners is the best, hassle-free, most relaxing time of the year.
What could go wrong, you might wonder? What possible reasons not to travel with your husband you can come up with? None, obviously.
Really? None? Yeah, only of it it was that simple.
Reasons not to travel with your husband
He will make you stay in bed till noon
You finally arrived in Paris, a place you had on your bucket list since you were eight. You only have four days to see every single corner of the most romantic city in the world. You carefully planned every minute of each day…there’s surely no space for being lazy. You set your alarm for 7 am (just to be safe), enough time to eat a croissant with a cup of coffee and line up at Louvre before 9. For him, it’s holidays time. And what means? Sleeping in until 10 am. Eiffel Tower can wait but your impatience just keeps growing, because, in your head, Paris does not wait.
Coffee stop? Again?
Yes, again. You are on holidays and you love coffee. When can you enjoy a cute coffee place with a cup of perfect cappuccino without having to rush? Besides, it’s a perfect moment to observe the locals, write a postcard or simply enjoy the world go by. Why can’t he understand it?
Why do you need to visit another clothing store? He would say
“But darling, don’t we have the same clothes where we live”. Of course, we don’t, that’s why you are buying this unique dress at a Thai street market. No, you don’t have exactly the same one already. The one you left at home has white flowers with red centres, this one is totally different. The flowers are slightly bigger and the centres are pink. Why can’t he see the difference?
He will not take ”perfect” travel photos
You floating head at the bottom of a photo looks pretty cute. And that sky, wow! Ohh, and Big Ben is just right there, can you see the top of it? But at least you have a photo, what would you do if you travelled alone? Give your camera to a total stranger or take arm lengths selfies?
He will claim that he knows the way
Ok, it’s the second time you are passing by the same statue. Is time yet to tell him that you are going in circles and the best idea right now would be putting a Google maps on or asking one of the passing by locals? Or maybe you should wait a little longer…he might get offended. In the end, he knows the way very well, he was just checking something.

You want to suntan, but he won’t have it
It’s not that you a big fan of suntanning- you are not. You just like to spend one or two days at the pool or beach, slowing down a little and read a book that has been collecting dust for too long. But he will moan and complain about the heat, the sand on his feet and that water in a pool is too wet. “Next time”, you think, “I will go all alone and fry myself as much as I can handle”.
What’s more romantic than sunset beach walks alone?
Finally, some time alone enjoying a breathtaking Balinese sunset, summer breeze combing your hair and all-time in the world to hear your own thoughts. Sure, a trip for two is great, but don’t you just love your own company once in a while? It’s a date night for one.
He will forget to book a hotel
Did it ever happen to you? You agreed to divide travel planning. You were supposed to organize all the activities, he insisted on booking hotels (because he knows better, right?). 12-hour flight was somehow exhausting…you sat next to a five-year-old who loved stretching, slurping and jumping. That’s ok because you know that after landing and a short 40-minute taxi ride you’ll arrive at a hotel. What you don’t know is that upon arrival your husband will ask you to give the hotel address to a taxi driver.
