Hello everyone. I have for you an exciting announcement. I’ve partnered with GPSmycity, which resulted that some of my blog posts and guides will soon be available as a mobile app. The whole idea of it is to make travel planning and traveling itself much easier.
What is a GPS-guided travel article?
GPSmycity is an app that contains articles and guides for hundreds of cities around the world. Each guide is an individual app that you can download depending where you are traveling to and what guide you would need.
So why is it useful?
Did it happen to you that you needed to check something and there was simply no Wi-Fi? I know you can carry a guide book, I used to to that before the technology allowed me to carry less things on my travels.
I know that Lonely Planet is great, but for the last few years I found myself searching through blogs to get all the info and inspiration I needed. What I love especially about bloggers out there is that they show the world with different eyes, inspire us to visit places that are not included in a typical guide and most of all they (usually) show their honest opinion. I had some incredible travel experiences thanks to ideas of fellow travel bloggers and their articles.
While the blog posts are so great, we still need an Internet access to be able to access them any time we want. Well, you can also print them out, but then we are going back to carrying heavy paper on our trips and not to mention the waste and so many poor trees being cut. I am all about paperless (except my weakness for printed photos and books…but even those I’m trying to limit).
Another thing that I like about this app is the fact that we can download only the guides we are interested in. For example, if you are a typical foodie and want to know where to eat, let’s say in Madrid, you can browse the articles that will provide you with an information specifically related to restaurants, vegetarian places, coffee shops etc. If you also want to know the “must dos”, you can search for an app that gives you a list of those things. This way you will have a clearer picture of how to plan your visit.
Let’s be honest, we are living with our mobiles and use them for nearly everything. I agree that at times it goes to an extreme when we are spending way too much time looking at devices and we need to find a balance, but I also think that the technology should make our lives easier and that what this app is for.
For example, you can get offline maps with guides for these cities:
and many more.

So… by downloading GPSmycity travel app you:
- Save the precious trees.
- Travel lighter.
- Reduce the cost of paying for book guides or printing the information from the Internet.
- You have the information you need handy and easy to access any time.
- Reduce the clutter in your home…or a suitcase.
- Download the guides according to your interests.
- Won’t need an Internet access to use the guides as they work with GPS tracking.:
Why not give it a try? It’s totally free.
Thank you for visiting, I wish you all happy travels and many incredible memories.

Hey Anna- Would this be any better than Google Maps? Even that is free. Are the guides the only extra thing?
