10 dreamy escapes around the world to inspire your travel plans

The world is so beautiful and full of amazing places that we will probably never run out of new destinations to visit. I always look for some new travle inspiration by reading other blogs and listening to your travel stories. Every Sunday Postcard is also a big inspiration. I’ve traveled to some incredible places and every time I cannot wait to share some photos with you either on the blog or Instagram, so you can also get inspired. This being said, I have prepared for you a little list of places that are so incredibly beautiful that I will remember for a very long time.

10 dreamy escapes to inspire your travel plans

1. French Riviera

Rich, elegant, classy and expensive. This is my perception of the French Riviera. Saint Tropez famous for Bridget Bardot, Cannes for the film festival, Antibes for pristine beaches are only a few places that I enjoyed visiting. Maybe some have slightly negative opinions about this part of France, but it did not disappoint me.

Cannes, France

2. Colombia

Colombia is very diverse and has so breathtaking landscapes that are difficult to forget. White sand beaches are probably ones of the most beautiful in the world, the rain forest, the desert and rivers. Colombia has it all and there is something for everyone.

3. Costa Rica

Pura vida is a slogan in Costa Rica. The island is just nature, it’s a place to relax, discover rain forest where the monkeys and rare frogs live, climb a volcano and enjoy beautiful beaches. I went there off season when it was much quieter and even some rainy days were warm and perfect to enjoy the place.

4. Easter Island

It was a dream I never though could come true. Easter Island is one of the most remote places on Earth. This tiny island is most famous for moai, the incredible sculptures left by Rapa Nui people in Polynesia between 13th and 16th centuries. What I liked so much about this island that is nearly empty and the peace and quiet is so refreshing there so far away from the civilization. The silence there is something that I have never experience anywhere else.

5. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka seems to be more and more popular every year amongst travelers and holiday makers. It is truly a wonderful place which can give you incredible experiences and all thanks to so beautiful elephants and beaches, amongst others. I guess booking a trip to Sri Lanka might be one of the best ideas for future travels. Please remember though, to be responsible and do some research before you go there.

6. Argentina

Argentina is full of dreamy places. Who would not get speechless by the view of glaciers like Perito Moreno, waterfalls like Iguazu, deserted Tierra de Fuego, Patagonia or lakes in the Bariloche region. It would be very hard for me to pick my favourite, so instead I recommend you to travel to many corners of Argentina if you can or chose your favourites. I’ve written many posts on Argentina, so feel free to browse around and pick your own dreamy place there.

7. Italy

Italy for me is a real dreamy place for many reasons. I guest the list would go on and on. It is a truly beautiful country and I love it for its food, gelato (and I am not a big fan of ice cream, but in Italy I get frequently tempted), the coast, little charming fishing villages, landscapes and cities full of history, like Florence, for example. The choices are endless.

8. Trinidad and Tobago

I spent in Tobago a few weeks and it simply a wonderful place. As the locals are used to say “Trinidad is nice, but Tobago is a paradise”. There is o much truth in this phrase. I lost most of the photos, but I can vividly remember every corner of the island. I worked there as a volunteer in a conservative project with sea turtles. Seeing those amazing creature up close every night is one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had.

9. Isle of Skye

Isle of Skye is a Scottish island, which so calm and pure till a few years ago, now become a major touristic attraction that brings way too many people every day. It is still however one of the most beautiful places you can go to. I was in the Isle of Skye twice and twice for still not enough to soak all of its beauty.

10. Galapagos

One of the places that are not so crowded and with many rules in place to protect the islands. This is what continues making Galapagos so special and unique. The many species of animals and still evolving landscapes are well protected and actually are the animals that made my trip to Galapagos a trip of a lifetime. From giant tortoises to colorful fish, sharks and mantas to the funniest dancing birds the nature is clearly the owner of the place and humans are only visitors. White sand beaches are not that common there, but the one I found was totally empty and beautiful.

  1. that looks like such an amazing adventure. I cant wait to start hitting the locations on my bucket list. This is definitely on there. Thanks for the info

  2. Well I added another 10 locations to the bucket list can’t wait to start exploring the world once the babies are a little bigger! Great post thanks for sharing

  3. You are so right about Easter Island. I felt it was a place that I could never get to, but determination makes anything possible. I spent 3.5 days on the island and it was not enough time! The remoteness of the island is so freeing allowing one to completely immerse themselves in the beauty and mystery of the island. I cannot wait to go back. It was one place I truly did not want to leave.

And Italy – it is a dream, no matter where you go. Rome is still my favorite followed by Sienna, but still so much more to explore in that amazing country. And, its the only country where I turn into a foodie! They know how to cook in Italy!

I’ve been seeing so much about Colombia lately that it’s definitely piqued my interest and it’s now on my list of places to explore. Thanks for the suggestion!
